Handmade Gift Ideas #1

It's that time of year for gift giving
and for some of us, the best gifts of all are handmade.

I have been working on some handmade gift ideas the past few weeks
and was planning to make my
Abundantly Blessed quilt out of our Scrumptious fabric.

A friend of mine saw this picture on Facebook and said "Hey, isn't this your quilt"?

I couldn't resist contacting the photographer and Amber was kind enough to let me post it.
Isn't she the most adorable baby!

Yes, this is my quilt, Abundantly Blessed.

I decided to make up some Abundantly Blessed kits to put in the shop.

This quilt is so fast and easy!

It's a quilt-as-you-go with a soft raw edge.
As you can see, it's perfect for snuggling baby or great for a table topper too.
The size is 40" x 40".

My daughter-in-law made a table topper out of Christmas fabric
a couple of years ago.
This pattern works great for any season.

And yes, I am working on a boy kit as well. Coming soon!

The kits are available with an orange quilt back

or a red one.

The pattern is included in the kit as well.

She is just too sweet!
Thanks Amber.

Check back often.  I will be adding more gift ideas in the next couple of weeks
and hope this helps you in giving some handmade gifts this year.

And yes, I am feeling more than Abundantly Blessed right now!!!

  4. After searching through 100 cute patterns, my 9 yr old granddaughter was inspired by Abundantly Blessed to make her newborn cousin a quilt. She reversed the color placement using a circle of your flannel Marmalade (it makes the back blocks of flannel and the front a split melon.) So cute and so proud of herself. Can you tell she was feverishly working on it at night after her pesky brothers were in bed?!

Blessings to you. Hope you are well and looking forward to the holidays.

  9. I apologize beforehand if this is a stupid question! I am new to quilting and have only done some foundational paper piecing thus far. I would like to make a quilt for my daughter's bed and as we looked at some pins, this is the one she zeroed in on! If we purchased this pattern, could we adjust it to make it larger? It would probably need to be more like 80 X 80. Also, would this be suitable for someone who is relatively new to quilting? I don't want to get in over my head! Thank you for any help you can give me.
