Handmade Gift Ideas #5 - Pillowcases

Today's handmade gift idea is a classic gift at Christmas - Soft, cozy pillowcases.

This is a picture from a few years ago when I made all of my grandchildren Snuggles pillowcases. They love how soft and cozy they are and use them year round.

The next year I made all the adults Snuggles pillowcases.

A few days ago I made 8 more pillowcases in just a few hours.

Yes, BYU, for some big fans this year.
They are a little young to follow my blog, so I hope the secret isn't spoiled.

If you are not familiar with Snuggles, it is a Moda 60" wide soft fuzzy fabric.

I have a few pillowcase kits in the shop if you are interested.
The kits are a simple red Snuggles base, which is the softest fabric ever, and a flannel band.

There are several fabric options to choose from.

My Snuggle Up Pillowcases pattern is great if you want to make a pillowcase that is a little more detailed.  I used the Snuggles for the plain and flannel for the print.

My Patchwork Pillowcases pattern would be great to piece using some
 fun Christmas prints.

Both pillowcase patterns, paper and PDF are just $5.00 each from now until Christmas.

You can make the pillowcases simple or fancy, either way, it's a great gift for young and old.

Happy Stitching,
Bonnie

Handmade Gift Ideas #4 - Fabric Bundles

Happy Monday, I had such a nice weekend and hope you did too!

On Friday I posted a few Cotton Blossoms fabric bundles.
They went so fast and I had many requests for more, so I cut up all I could part with.

Then I added some Simple Abundance bundles.

I was having so much fun, that I cut up a few
Bonnie and Camille mixed bundles too.

Fabric bundles are so addicting. I don't know about you, but I never want to untie them and cut them up. I like to put them all around my studio and look at how pretty they are.

A couple of weeks ago I lined up all of our Bonnie and Camille fabric lines, in order,
 above my studio door.
It makes me smile every time I see them.

A fabric bundle, a fun pattern and maybe even a yummy chocolate bar,
could be the perfect gift for someone on your Christmas list. Fabric is always a great
stocking stuffer too.

For me, every time I get a new fabric bundle, even in July,
it feels like Christmas.
So hop on over to the shop for some bundles and there may even
be a couple of sewing bag kits left if you hurry.

This is going to be a busy week for most of us, but I hope we can all take a minute and
count our blessings.
Wishing all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for and feel so blessed,
Bonnie

Handmade Gift Ideas #3 - Scrumptious Sew Easy Bag Kit

Another Scrumptious Gift Idea - Sew Easy Bag Kit

This handy kit includes the Scrumptious mini charm squares, zipper, lining, batting and ribbon.  It does not include any of of the other items in the photo above,
but as you can see, you can fill it with all of your favorite notions.

I have decided to offer the kit and pattern separately because some of you may already have the pattern or may want more than one kit.

The kits are $10.00 and the pattern is on sale for $6.00.
The pattern is available as a paper pattern or a PDF download.
The pattern includes all of the bags on the cover!
It could also be used for make-up, pencils and crayons or any other use you can dream up.
It is 5" x 9".

I take my bag everywhere, in the car and on the plane. Whether I am binding a quilt or stitching hexagons, it works perfectly. The scissors can be attached to the ribbon inside the bag so you don't drop or misplace them.

I have several bags, one with needles and thread, thimble pads - love these, and all the things for binding.  I have one for my hexagon project and one for my embroidery.

A great gift for all of your sewing friends!
You could even just give them the kit and let them have fun making it.

I also added a few more of the Abundantly Blessed kits to the shop.

I hope this helps check a few things off of your handmade gift list.
Happy Stitching,
Bonnie

Handmade Gift Ideas #2

When I posted on Monday, I promised more Christmas ideas for handmade gifts,

so today I have a couple of patterns that are perfect for the holidays, one is Peppermint Pizzaz
which is 43" x 43",
and the other is the
December table runner from our Fresh and Fancy series.
It is a little smaller at 21" x 42".

You can make one side or the other, or make it double sided.  The Merry Christmas, Joy and Peace are hand embroidered for a special handmade touch.

Both patterns will be on sale for $6.00 each, paper or PDF, from now until November 25th.

More handmade holiday gift ideas and even a few more kits coming next week.
Happy Stitching,
Bonnie

Handmade Gift Ideas #1

It's that time of year for gift giving
and for some of us, the best gifts of all are handmade.

I have been working on some handmade gift ideas the past few weeks
and was planning to make my
Abundantly Blessed quilt out of our Scrumptious fabric.

A friend of mine saw this picture on Facebook and said "Hey, isn't this your quilt"?

I couldn't resist contacting the photographer and Amber was kind enough to let me post it.
Isn't she the most adorable baby!

Yes, this is my quilt, Abundantly Blessed.

I decided to make up some Abundantly Blessed kits to put in the shop.

This quilt is so fast and easy!

It's a quilt-as-you-go with a soft raw edge.
As you can see, it's perfect for snuggling baby or great for a table topper too.
The size is 40" x 40".

My daughter-in-law made a table topper out of Christmas fabric
a couple of years ago.
This pattern works great for any season.

And yes, I am working on a boy kit as well. Coming soon!

The kits are available with an orange quilt back

or a red one.

The pattern is included in the kit as well.

She is just too sweet!
Thanks Amber.

Check back often.  I will be adding more gift ideas in the next couple of weeks
and hope this helps you in giving some handmade gifts this year.

And yes, I am feeling more than Abundantly Blessed right now!!!

Ironing Board Makeover Winner!

It's time to announce the winner of the October Ironing Board Makeover!

First of all let me say
Thank You
to all of you that took the challenge.  I am amazed at the creativity out there.
I wish I could send all of you a stack of Scrumptious!

The winner of the Scrumptious fabric is Tracy:

This is her BEFORE picture.

And AFTER!

Wow!  Looks great Tracy!

You even used fabric from several of our fabric lines and mixed them all together.
Send me your address and I will get this fabric right out to you. Congratulations!

After I recovered my ironing board, I decided to make one for a friend

and couldn't resist making her an Ironing Board Organizer to go with it.

She needed one right?

I was always poking pins in mine, so hopefully this pincushion will be useful for her,

and the little garbage pocket comes in so handy when you are trimming off those little tails, not to mention the pockets with the sewing gadgets we tend to
collect on the end of our ironing boards.

Thanks for the fun and hope that if your ironing board tends to look
a little like Tracy's before picture,
you will be inspired to make a new cover, really, it makes ironing soooo much more fun!

Bundles in the Shop

Some of you needed just a couple more days to finish up on your Ironing Board Makeover, so I have decided to announce the winner on Monday, November 4th. It's been so fun to see the makeovers that have been sent so far and I can't wait to see the rest.

Our weather has been pretty gloomy here today, so to brighten things up, I spent the day cutting some new bundles of Bonnie and Camille fabrics.

In the shop now.

See you back on Monday for the winner.
Happy Halloween!

Bonnie
